A council employee got on his bike and helped raise more than £2,000 for two cancer charities.
Principle scrutiny officer Neil Evans joined two friends on pedalled his way from St David’s, Pembrokeshire, to Chepstow, to raise awareness of prostate cancer.
The 33-year-old from Cardiff joined two close friends, who have successfully battled their way to good health after being treated for prostate cancer, on the 200 mile trip.
And the team are gearing up for a new challenge next year.
Neil said: “It has a hard slog but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I myself have been affected by cancer as a close family member is being treated for the disease.
“We are astounded by the amount we have raised and would like to thank each and everyone who has sponsored us for their support.
“Knowing that we had so many family members, friends and colleagues behind us kept us going.”
The funds raised will be split between the Institute of Cancer Research Everyman charity and the Prostate Cancer Research fund at Morriston Hospital. Donations can still be made by logging onto www.justgiving.com/cycle184
