Staff at Marks and Spencer in Eagles Meadow came out on top in their marathon two-day pancake tossing shootout with Nightingale House charity workers.
Both teams wielded the frying pan to good effect to rack up over 6,000 pancake tosses each but the real winners were the charity which benefited by over £500.
The bunfight at the M&S restaurant kicked off on Saturday and resumed on Tuesday with the teams of three matching each other most of the way before M&S snatched victory.
Store manager Katie Jones said: “It was really good fun and I think the customers had a surprise when they saw it taking place but everyone had a good time.
“We had plenty of people in, especially on Saturday when the ice rink was outside, and we’d definitely like to do it again.
“Nightingale House were leading at one stage on the second day but we managed to come out on top by 200 tosses so all those team briefings and practices paid off but the main thing was that we were able to raise money for a very worthy charity.”
Wrexham-based Nightingale House provides free specialist palliative care services to patients and their families across North Wales and the Borders and its services include a 16-bed inpatient ward, a daycare unit, outpatient clinic and a range of therapies and treatment including bereavement support.
