Cheaper, more-flexible way to a law career

A new part-time course designed to make studying for a career in law more flexible and affordable has been launched at Cardiff University.

Cardiff Law School is introducing a new part-time Legal Practice Course (LPC) from September 2010.

The course will be offered in addition to Cardiff Law School’s existing full-time LPC for students who need the flexibility to fit their learning around their lifestyle and circumstances.

Director of the Centre for Professional Legal Studies at Cardiff Law School, Ian Brookfield, said: “The part-time LPC will enable us to accommodate our students’ differing needs in the fast changing marketplace. It is an exciting opportunity to expand our excellent LPC to appeal to the needs of busy students.”

Cardiff Law School is a leading provider of legal training and the LPC has consistently achieved the Solicitors Regulation Authority’s highest grade.

To mark the launch of the course, an open evening will be held at the Law School from 5.30pm on Wednesday, May 12 to give prospective students an opportunity to find out more.

Ian Brookfield said: “The open evening is an opportunity for prospective students to learn more about the benefits of studying the LPC on a part-time basis at Cardiff Law School.

“I’d urge those students who might be otherwise put off studying for the LPC on a full-time basis because of time or financial commitments to sign-up for the open evening to see how the new part-time LPC could help meet their needs.”
