Cheer on Wales in the Heart of the City

Cardiff Council are delighted to announce that there will be a supporters’ Village in the heart of the city this weekend ahead of Wales’ Grand Slam decider.

The special Supporters’ Village will be based in King Edward VII Avenue.

The event gives fan’s not lucky enough to have a ticket for the game the opportunity to show their support for Wales in a safe, fun, family environment.

Entry to the event is free with bars opening on site from 11am . All three final Six Nations games will be shown on the Big Screen:

  • 12.30pm Italy V Scotland
  • 2.45pm Wales V France
  • 5pm England V Ireland
  • 7.30pm Gates Close

The Supporters’ Village will include a big screen and food and beverages facilities.

For licensing reasons no-one will be allowed to take their own alcohol onto the site but there will be ample food and beverage available on site. .

Executive Member for Sport, Culture and Leisure, Cllr Nigel Howells said: “This is a huge match game for the whole of Wales on Saturday and there will be a lot of people coming into the capital to soak up the atmosphere. We are delighted to be able to work with the WRU to provide the supporters’ village and give fans the opportunity to watch the game so close to the Millennium Stadium where the main action will take place.

“The day promises to be a great day and Wales look set to win the Championship no matter what the outcome of this game but the Grand Slam will be the cherry on the top of what has been a fantastic Six Nations.

“I want to wish Warren Gatland and the Wales’ team good luck for Saturday.., Come on Wales’!”
