Members of a choir were on a roll when they took part in an event to support the chosen charities of Rhondda Cynon Taf’s Mayor, Cllr Simon Lloyd.
The Sing for Life choir, whose members come from Rhondda Cynon Taf, Cardiff and Caerphilly, were the winning team at the charity bowling evening, hosted by Bowlplex in Treforest.
As well as offering a fun night out, the evening also raised funds for the Mayor’s charities – Marie Curie Cancer Care, the Christian Lewis Trust, the Rowan Tree Foundation (formerly Cancer Support Cynon Valley), and the Pontypridd War Memorial Appeal.
The Sing for Life choir won two games of bowling and a meal from the grill for each of its members, while the runners-up from Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Strategy, PR and Tourism Department won two games of bowling.
There was also a third prize of one game of bowling, awarded to a team from Rhondda Cynon Taf Human Resources. All prizes were kindly donated by Bowlplex, whose staff ensured all who attended had a great time.
Mr Rob Griffiths of Treorchy won an Easter egg for the highest individual score of 141.
Mayor Cllr Lloyd said: “A big thank you to everyone who turned out to have fun and help raise £450 for my chosen charities.”
