Celebrating their first Christmas, The Cardiff Story team are getting into the festive spirit and have planned a number of events to entertain all the family.
Cardiff theatre company Likely Story come to the museum on Thursday, December 22 at 7pm. The eccentric time travelling storytellers will tell four favourite fairy tales. Armed with trunks of costumes, musical instruments, buckets of energy and their trusted storytelling machine, they begin where all good stories should begin, “Once upon a time…”
“Once Upon A Time” is a fast, furious and fun-packed family show suitable for children and adults.
Tickets for the show are £2 and children under 12 are free. Tickets can be booked in advance by emailing [email protected], phoning the museum on 029 2078 8334 or bought in person at The Cardiff Story, The Old Library, The Hayes, Cardiff CF10 1BH. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
The museum will also be open late on Thursday, December 22 giving Christmas shoppers the opportunity to pop in until 7pm.
The day before the big show, on Wednesday December 21, a special Christmas craft session will take place. Visitors will be able to make their own ‘Mari Lwyd’, following an ancient local tradition. Groups of singers would decorate a horse figure and parade through the streets, going from door to door singing songs and entertaining people.
This event is free and all ages are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
