The Christmas star was shining down on Dolau Primary School last week (8th December), as the first of their school nativity plays took place.
Pupils, aged 3 to 11 took part in the telling of the 2,000 year old traditional story, with Mary and Joseph, being played by Megan Winterburn and Levar Williamson.
They were also joined by the three wise men, angel Gabriel, the Christmas star and various barn yard animals, including donkeys and sheep.
Parents and guests attended the performance and the pride could be seen on their faces as the children performed various songs and dance routines related to the nativity theme. There were even a few tears shed in the crowd as the overwhelmed parents, saw weeks of practice pay off for the little ones.
Headteacher, Mr. Gareth Evans, said: “I am so proud of the children in the school and it is fantastic to see their hard work pay off. I look forward to the nativity plays every year, to see the children all dressed up in their costumes and singing carols, is a true sign that Christmas is just around the corner. Well done to all those who delivered the wonderful performance.”
Councillor Eudine Hanagan, Cabinet Member for Education, Skills and Lifelong Learning, said: “It is great to hear that there are so many school nativities taking place in our County Borough. There is nothing more likely to get you in the Christmas mood than watching young children performing the traditional story and singing Christmas carols.”
