Vale of Glamorgan Council promised that their Christmas tree this year would be bigger and better than last year and even with the Welsh Budget looming we think we’ve delivered on all counts, as you can see from this picture. They’ve even stretched to baubles!
For all of you shouting ‘bah humbug’ – this isn’t the council’s real tree (more to the point, we hope you never thought it was) – just the result of a festive prankster.
Unfortunately this one won’t be staying around for long but their new 40 foot real Sitka spruce tree will be replacing it ready for the official switch-on of the Christmas lights on 26 November.
Come along to King Square by 6.30pm to experience live music, street entertainers and a breathtaking acrobatic performance within an eight-metre high transparent candle.
The lights go on at 8pm, followed by a Christmas Lantern Parade along Holton Road at 8.30pm.
