Classic comedy ‘Spanish Lies’ comes to Blackwood

What better way to celebrate 25 years of wedded (sort-of!) bliss than to revisit your honeymoon destination for a trip down memory lane?

Next month will see Frank Vickery’s wonderful ‘Spanish Lies’ come to Blackwood Miners’ Institute, where one of the characters, Dougie takes wife Lorna to revisit the Majorcan hotel they first visited as newlyweds to celebrate their silver wedding anniversary.

Dougie had been hoping to put the spark back in their flagging relationship but wasn’t expecting the fireworks that the holiday brings!

Spanish Lies will run from Monday 6th June to Wednesday 8th June, with performances each night starting at 7.30pm.

The story begins…

The hotel is still managed by the same couple, Regietta and her husband Miguel, the local Casanova who Lorna fell for all those years before. Lorna is suddenly faced with the mundane reality of her life and has some tough decisions to make…

This classic farce is packed with laugh out loud slapstick comedy and classic one liners.

Tickets for this Grassroots Productions and RCT Theatres Co-production cost £12 and £11 for concessions. The performance contains mild language.
