Denbighshire County Council is putting on a series of guided walks for their annual Walking Week, September 20 – 27.
The new Big Hillfort Challenge joins the established long distance walk on the agenda for fans of the area’s beautiful landscape and history.
This year the walking festival focuses on the hillforts and heather moorland of the Clwydian Range and surrounding area. The Long Distance Challenge, which takes place over 3 days, starts this year at Caer Drewyn, Corwen taking in six hillforts and ending at Loggerheads Country Park. Join in for as little or as much as you can manage.
The festival also features Nordic Walking at the Alwen, a walk to Moel Hiraddug hillfort, Dyserth, and a walk up Moel Famau where you can try your hand at some habitat management.
All walks are free, but places must be pre-booked on 01352 810614. Please note that some walks listed on the web-site are already fully booked. Further information about all walks is available at denbighshirewalkingweek.com.
