It’s official. Summer has arrived. And the reason? The Pick Your Own strawberries are ready at Hawarden Estate Farm Shop.
And to celebrate the Farm Shop team are holding a great big summer food market on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 June.
The market will also feature a hog roast, freshly made traditional lemonade, locally made ice cream, and an abundance of summer fruits.
The Farm Shop’s Real Food Fêtes are known for their showcasing of local suppliers, and this one will be no different, but the focus is very much on welcoming families into the fields, to enjoy picking strawberries, raspberries and other fruits.
“We’ll have an abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables, and we’re really keen for people to get into the fields and enjoy fruit picking. We’ll have entertainment, and there’s our popular free nature trail for all the family too” said organiser Vicky Gladstone who works at the Farm Shop, and whose family own Hawarden Estate.
Entry is free, there’s free parking too, and the pigs and chickens are looking forward to welcoming lots of new visitors.
