Following the success of last years stand up comedy workshops and comedy night ‘Laughing Matters’ for young people, Cardiff Central Library is once again getting ready to tickle your funny bone with a top comedy night.
This year the library are joining forces with the Cardiff Comedy Festival and the Gwanwyn Festival to create an event to show the world that comedy has no sell by date. Laughing Matters: 50+, offers older comedians the chance to showcase their comedy skills in front of an audience at Central Library.
Auditions and workshops have been taking place at Central Library over the past month with the funniest comedians being selected to perform at a gig to be held at the library on Friday May 27 at 7pm.
The event is free and comedian Matt Price will also headline the event.
Executive Member for Sport, Culture and Leisure, Cllr Nigel Howells, said, “The Laughing matters event last year was a great success so I am delighted we are able to bring it back again this year and offer the opportunity to the older generation to perform at the library.”
