Local artists are invited to apply to take part in a new training scheme where they can learn more about community arts, writing funding bids, pitching ideas and much more.
The course will be residential and runs from 10am on March 26 to midday on March 28. It is a free training scheme that is being funded by a consortium of local authorities/arts development officers.
Open to creative practitioners in any field, the residency will provide an overview of community arts practice, including current policy and agenda developments. It will assist artists in writing funding bids and pitching ideas, effective delivery techniques; teach them more about access, equality and child protection issues; preparing risk assessments and the essentials of working as a freelance practitioner such as legislation, contracts and portfolio development.
Artists will also get the chance to bid to develop a pilot project for a particular target group identified by arts development officers and have the chance to be involved with short term placements to be mentored by artists in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Caerphilly, Torfaen and Blaenau Gwent.
All you have to do is fill in and return a form by Friday 19 February. Contact 07948 219147 or email [email protected] for details.
