As part of Adult Learning Week TV actress Di Botcher and Cllr John Rogers NPT Cabinet Member for Education and Lifelong Learning unveiled a mural designed and painted by twenty four lifelong learners attending art classes within Neath Port Talbot.
Council Leader Cllr Ali Thomas said “I am very proud of the community and individuals who have contributed their time and skills to this striking mural that celebrates this busy community centre. It is a tribute to the talent of Neath Port Talbot we are able to produce such fine works of art for all to see.”
The project was supervised by local artist and tutor Bert Evans who also displays his pictures at Blanco’s Hotel. The students were asked to design and paint a striking wall design reflecting the culture and interests of the people attending the popular centre. The event also coincided with the opening of an art exhibition.
Cllr John Rogers said “I would like to thank all the students and supporters that have contributed to this worthwhile and impressive project, this is a great example of the community coming together through continuous adult learning to produce an artistic memorial for this much loved centre.”
