The eighth Connah’s Quay Festival will take place Sunday 19 June from 10am onwards at Wepre County Park.
This free event has been organised by Connah’s Quay Town Council and will include a fun fair, Morris dancing competition, games with Cadbury’s Spots and Stripes, car boot sale, stalls and refreshment vans.
Lisa Fearn, Town Centre Manager in Connah’s Quay said:
“We are really excited this year as we have more special features. The festival keeps growing which is great news. We welcome everyone to come along and join in the fun! Let’s pray for sunshine.”
This year’s festival sees the return of the Young Flintshire Youth Village with DJ, bands, dancing, information stands and activities for all the family. The new Children and Young People’s Plan 2011-14 will also be launched and everyone will have an opportunity to have their say on what is important to them in Flintshire.
Young people will also be able to access the Young Flintshire website, an interactive website that aims to help young people get all the things you are entitled to as a young person in Wales.
Councillor Pamela Attridge, Chair of Connah’s Quay Town Council said:
“I am delighted that we again are able to host the Connah’s Quay Festival which has been a fantastic event within the town for the past eight years now and has been enjoyed by thousands of people. This year’s theme is very much about children and young people and once again features The Young Flintshire Youth Village and very worthwhile organisations to help guide youngsters on all sorts of issues.
“This event is free and everyone is welcome to attend, watch or even take part but most of all to enjoy and have fun.”
