Welsh Conservatives today revealed its top two candidates in South Wales West ahead of May’s Assembly elections.
Campaigner Suzy Davies will head up the list of candidates with former policeman Byron Davies taking the second position on the list.
It is the first time a woman has held the top place on a Welsh Conservative regional list.
Commenting on the results of a ballot of party members across the South Wales West region, Suzy Davies said:
“I am delighted to have been selected to lead the Welsh Conservative Party’s campaign in South West Wales.
“I am excited about the opportunities facing voters at the Assembly elections. I will be working closely with Nick Bourne and his team in the Assembly to advocate a healthier, greener and more prosperous Wales.
“I look forward to working hard over the coming months listening to the views of voters across South West Wales.”
