I’m researching my Welsh family’s history. I’ve been told by my uncle that the lady mentioned above, was a joint winner at the National Eisteddford in 1939, with the best book written in English.
Her full name was Constance Hannah Teear, known as ‘Connie’. She was born in 1908 in Newport & died 1976 in Cardiff. Pre WWII she wrote for Welsh Radio programmes, post WWII she wrote Welsh History Play & Series for the BBC Radio in 1959 & 1964. Apparently she also wrote for ‘Children’s Hour’ and was a member of the Institute of Journalists.
I can’t seem to find out anything more, I was wondering if you had any more information on this?
