Continental cuisine for city centre

Fancy French food is among the treats on offer in Swansea city centre this week.

The continental market is returning to Oxford Street from Thursday June 3 to Sunday June 6 complete with a line-up of treats from across Europe.

Hot sausage baguettes, freshly-cooked paella, Dutch cheese and Spanish churros will be among the products people can peruse.

Biscuits from Brittany, Italian leather goods, mouth-watering crepes and basketware from Senegal will also be available.

Swansea Council
and Team Fantastique are behind the event.

Cllr Graham Thomas, Swansea Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Recreation and Tourism, said: “This is a great opportunity for people to buy things not normally available here in Swansea.

“This is an authentic continental market that brings a European atmosphere to the city centre complete with a huge variety of fresh vegetables, fruits and other foods from other countries.

“These events add vibrancy to the city centre and are part of many scheduled attractions throughout the year aimed at boosting footfall and raising Swansea city centre’s profile.”
