Conwy County Borough Council is using this year’s Europe Day to tell people about its successes in applying for European funding for projects which benefit the area.
Conwy County Borough Council’s European Team works closely with others on projects to improve communities and generate jobs across the county.
The projects often involve many partners including Council services, statutory organisations and local groups working together using European, International or National funding streams. Each venture is unique and the diversity of projects means that all parts of the community stand to benefit.
Current projects include:
- Age Friendly Communities
- Parc Eirias Events Centre
- Green Sea(Beach Improvement) Programme
- European Rugby Academy
- North Wales Cycling Centre of Excellence
- Colwyn Bay Streetscape and Waterfront
- Coastal Defence Works
To mark Europe Day, Conwy County Borough Council has arranged a display at Llandudno Library on 9th May, to show what cooperation with the rest of Europe means for people living in Conwy.
Marianne Jackson, Head of Community Development Service, said, “It’s sometimes difficult to understand the impact Europe can have on our daily lives. There are many projects in Conwy County Borough that are making a real difference to the local community and have only been possible because groups, organisations and countries have come together and worked in partnership.”
