Denbighshire County Council has arranged a public meeting for people to have their say on the future of the Corwen Pavilion.
Denbighshire announced the closure of the Pavilion on 2 March due to significant health and safety concerns.
The meeting will be on Thursday 8 April at 7pm at the Corwen Sports Pavilion on Green Lane.
This will be a chance for local residents to hear the reasons for the closure and to air their views. The council believes that the opinions of local residents are crucial in this debate about the future of their community.
The Leader of the council, local councillors, Denbighshire’s Head of Leisure Services and other council officers will be on hand to explain in detail the reasons for the closure, to listen to the concerns of local residents and to discuss ways of moving forward.
The council is working with user groups to identify alternative venues for events which have been booked at the Pavilion. The majority of events have already been relocated. The council is offering to pay for any relocation costs incurred.
Since the meeting with local community representatives on 4 March, the council has continued to talk to local residents and has not disregarded any temporary arrangements which have been suggested while a permanent solution is found.
