Cottrell Park in the Vale of Glamorgan will be hosting their second Armed Forces Day golf competition on Wednesday 22nd June 2011 in support of the National Armed Forces Day. The golf competition is open to all current serving Armed Forces Personnel, Reserve Forces, Veterans, Cadets and personnel working within the MOD.
The day will feature an Individual Competition sponsored by the “The Royal British Legion” and a Team Competition consisting of teams of four players. Both Cottrell Park golf courses (Mackintosh & Button) will be used concurrently for the competition with Tee off times commencing at 1200. The cost is £25.00 per person and will include coffee and bacon roll on arrival, 18 holes of golf and to finish the day off a Hog Roast buffet and of course prize giving for the winners.
The main organiser of the competition, Dave Morris who is also a retired Army Officer said, “It is a real privilege to be involved in Armed Forces Day, I believe it is extremely important that we have a day to recognise, celebrate, and honour all our servicemen and women who serve and have served our country. Organising this event gives much pleasure and satisfaction and gives us all to get together and have a fun day with comrades new and old.”
