Flintshire County Council and building and construction industry supplier, Travis Perkins, have opened a new housing-stores facility in Greenfield, Holywell. The new facility, which will be managed by Travis Perkins on behalf of the Council, will ensure that tradespeople can obtain materials to carry out repairs at our tenants’ homes in a much improved and efficient way.
This new partnership came about following a review of the Council’s in-house stores facility, when a decision was made to enter into a partnership agreement with an external supplier, to manage the procurement and supply of materials for our Housing Asset section.
Following a detailed tendering process, which considered all aspects under value for money and quality of service, the contract was awarded to Travis Perkins. Since then, a great deal of work has been undertaken between the Council and Travis Perkins to ensure the success of this new partnership and facility.
Councillor Helen Brown, Executive Member for Housing, said:
“This is a significant and extremely positive move forwards for the Council and we look forward, excitedly, to making the new partnership with Travis Perkins a huge success. The project and work involved is a credit to all, and we would like to say a big thank you to everyone that has contributed.”
Richard Adams, Operations Director at Travis Perkins Managed Services, said:
“We are delighted to be working in partnership with Flintshire County Council, and look forward to providing a first class service to Council employees and tenants in the future”.
