Denbighshire County Council has issued a warning about the potential of poor bathing water quality along the county’s coastline.
The warning follows a problem with a pump breaking down at the Westbourne Avenue pumping station in Rhyl.
Dwr Cymru Welsh Water have made efforts during the last one to two days to carry out repairs and contain the waste, however some diluted sewage has been released.
The River Clwyd currently has high levels of water from the recent heavy rains, therefore the the sewage has been heavily diluted, but the Council is issuing the advice as a precautionary measure.
People and their animals are advised to stay out of the sea water until further notice. If people come into direct contact with this water, they are advised to wash with soap and clean water.
Warning signs are being set up along Denbighshire beaches.
