Blaenau Gwent Council has signed up local meteorologist Jonathan Powell to deliver up to the minute weather bulletins for the county borough.
With a Welsh Valleys landscape that reaches north into the fringes of the Brecon Beacons National Park and up to the Heads of the Valleys highest point at 1,350 feet above sea level, Blaenau Gwent can be affected by challenging weather.
So accurate, local bulletins can be invaluable in helping the Council deliver services in difficult conditions.
Jonathan Powell, who lives in Ebbw Vale, said: “Blaenau Gwent is essentially a micro climate – we experience extremes of weather all year round”
