Council spends a penny on toilet refurbs

Public conveniences at key locations in the Vale are benefiting from renovation works carried out by the Vale of Glamorgan Council.

Works at Dunraven Bay, Southerndown, and Ogmore by Sea car park have now been completed, with works at Llantwit Major Town Hall facilities set to follow suit by the end of March.

The improvements are part of the council’s year-on-year rolling programme to update and raise the standards of its public conveniences.

The works comprise of the complete refurbishment of all internal fittings and features, together with any internal decoration, to bring the facilities in accordance with modern hygiene and equipment provision standards.

Cabinet member for visible and building services, Councillor Geoffrey Cox, said: “These refurbishment works demonstrate the council’s continued commitment to improving its services. I hope that residents and visitors have not been too disadvantaged by the works and that they welcome the improvements achieved.”
