Denbighshire County Council is to carry out safety checks on headstone and monuments in its cemeteries during February.
The cemeteries concerned are:
- Maeshyfryd Cemetery, Rhyl
- Coed Bell Cemetery ,Prestatyn
- Y Llwyn Cemetery, St Asaph
- Rhuddlan New Road Cemetery
- Ystrad Road Cemetery, Denbigh
- Llanrhydd Cemetery near Ruthin
- Fron Bache Cemetery in Llangollen.
Advisory notices will be placed on any memorial deemed to require attention and every effort will be made to contact families.
Should any memorial be assessed as dangerous it may be laid down by the Council`s trained staff prior to contact being made with the deed holder.
