Monmouthshire County Council will host its fourth annual autism awareness and information day at Monmouth’s Bridges Community Centre in Drybridge Park on Saturday 15th February.
The event, which runs from 10am to 2.45pm and includes a buffet lunch, is open to the public though booking is essential as places are limited. It will present an opportunity to hear about the latest professional developments, individuals sharing their experiences and changes at local and national level as well as information for children, young people and adults. In addition, up to 40 stands will offer help and advice.
A series of workshops will feature primary care mental health services, children and young people assessment, education, Disability Sports Wales, the Bright New Futures project and Monmouthshire’s youth offending team. Agencies from the statutory and voluntary sectors will also be in attendance.
County councillor Geoff Burrows, cabinet member for Social Care and Health said:
“This event will be an invaluable opportunity to inform those attending about the latest developments in the field as well as allowing people with shared interests and experiences to network and provide feedback for the council.”
