Denbighshire County Council has welcomed news that the 2013 Eisteddfod will be staged in the Vale of Clwyd.
Eisteddfod organisers announced earlier today that the Fferm Kilford site on the outskirts of Denbigh had been selected. This was the site of the 2001 event.
Leader of Denbighshire, Councillor Hugh Evans, said: “The Council is delighted that the Eisteddfod is coming back to Denbighshire.
“The festival, when it visited our county in 2001, was a resounding success. It’s an excellent opportunity for us to promote and market our county to a national audience and we will look forward to welcoming people from across Wales to sample what is on offer here.
“Now the hard work begins and we look forward to working with Eisteddfod officials, the local community in Denbigh and other communities across the county to welcome the event to the Vale of Clwyd in two years time.
