South Wales Police hosts an open day for the community in Splott, Cardiff, next week.
Entry to the event in Maltings Park on Saturday, June 11 is free and the gates open at 10am until 3pm.
Among the many attractions and activities are go-karts, an inflatable assault course, displays by the South Wales Police dogs and firearms team, crime scene investigators, around 25 stalls, food, drink, live music from Captain Accident, and special guest appearances from cartoon heroes Splott Division.
Radio Cardiff will be broadcasting from the open day which is sponsored by Viridor.
Visitors are encouraged to speak to officers who will be at the open day about their roles and the ever growing part they play in keeping our communities safe places to live, work and visit.
Pc Mike Neate, Splott Beat Manager, said: “The Splott Open Day will have something for everyone and it will be an occasion that the whole family can enjoy.
“It is also a fantastic way for people to informally meet their local police officers and find out a little more about the work they carry out.
“We could not have organised this event without the help of Viridor and this open day demonstrates the commitment of South Wales Police and the Roath Neighbourhood Policing Team to improve quality of life for residents.”
“Entry to the site is completely free of charge, and I would personally like to encourage everyone to come along and join in the fun”.
Tessa Taylor, Viridor’s Regional Communications Manager, adds: “We are delighted to be involved in the event and hope as many families as possible from the local area can come and have some fun.
“It is vitally important that communities work together and interact with each other in a positive way and Viridor is pleased it was able to help in bringing this event together.”
