Court a New Sport at Llantrisant

There has never been a better time to court a new sporting interest at Llantrisant Leisure Centre.

The Rhondda Cynon Taf venue has recently unveiled its four, new squash courts that have been refurbished to exceptional standards to accommodate the growing interest in and enthusiasm for the sport.

Players from across South Wales already flock to Llantrisant Leisure Centre to host league matches there and the venue also boasts a thriving junior club – and its very own specialist coach.

Determined to extend this interest, the Council has invested in the four new courts that offer the highest-possible standard for players – regardless of their ability or age.

Those who have a More Max card can benefit from free access to the squash courts, which are open from 10am to 10pm every day of the week apart from Saturdays, when they close earlier.

Parents who buy a More Max card for their children and pay by direct debit can also secure FREE coaching in the price. Or you can secure discounts off the cost of squash court hire with a standard More Card – ask in Llantrisant Leisure Centre for more information.

Throughout school holidays, including the current Easter break, free access to the squash courts at Llantrisant Leisure Centre is just one of the many activities children aged 16 and under and their parents can enjoy as part of Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s High 5 scheme.

Cllr Robert Bevan, Cabinet Member for Recreation, Culture and Tourism, said: “Llantrisant Leisure Centre is already a popular destination for a number of clubs who host league matches there.

“This, as well as the growing interest in the sport from people of all ages, led to the decision to invest in facilities and we hope to see residents of all ages benefit from them.

“If you used to enjoy squash, it is time to dust off those racquets and get playing again on the new courts! If you are new to the sport, then help is at hand to help you develop – including at a junior level.”
