Crafts in Action at the Glasshouse

It’s ‘Crafts in Action’ time in the National Botanic Garden’s Great Glasshouse this bank holiday weekend (5-7 May) where local crafts people will be putting on a show of their skills.

From woodturning, feltwork and spinning; to ceramics, crochet, glassware and enamel jewellery – there’s bound to be a craft or two to tickle your fancy.  There will also be a range of stalls with handmade teddy bears, soap, pens and farmtoys so there’s something to suit all members of the family.

Organiser Les Bryan said: “Following the success and popularity of last year’s event, we’ve tried to assemble a formidable range of experts in a wide variety of crafts which, we hope, will provide plenty of food for thought for Garden visitors.

“The crafters will be demonstrating their skills as well as selling their wares – which will make for much more of a spectacle,” he added.

There’ll also be family entertainment by the magical Jugglestruck on Saturday and Sunday and the wonderful Quack Pack and Dawnswyr Gwerin Pen-y-Fai folk dancers will be entertaining visitors around the Garden on Bank Holiday Monday.

The Garden is open daily from 10am to 6pm. For more information, call 01558 667149 or view all events on www.gardenofwales.org.uk
