Crafts in Action at the National Botanic Garden

image007It’s Crafts in Action time at the National Botanic Garden in Carmarthenshire this bank holiday weekend (3, 4 & 5 May) where local crafts people will be putting on a show of their skills.

Visitors are in for a treat and can admire quality demonstrations from woodturners, felters, jewellery makers, spinners and more in the stunning surrounds of the Great Glasshouse. There will also be a range of ‘trade’ stalls featuring handmade teddy bears, organic skincare, beautiful ceramics, home furnishings and photography so there’s something to suit all members of the family.

Organiser Les Bryan said: “This annual bank holiday event continues to grow in popularity with visitors.  We’ve put together a formidable range of experts in a wide variety of crafts which, we hope, will provide plenty of food for thought for Garden visitors.

“The crafters will be demonstrating their skills as well as selling their wares – which will make for much more of a spectacle,” he added.

There’ll also be family entertainment provided by the magical Jugglestruck; music from Fiddlebox; and the wonderful Quack Pack are in action on Bank Holiday Monday. The Garden also plays host to Furness Cloggers, who will be dancing on Friday, and there is an historical costume drama taking place – as the Garden’s history is relayed in various re-enactments and displays.

The Garden is open daily from 10am to 6pm. For more information, call 01558 667149, email [email protected] or go to www.gardenofwales.org.uk.
