Customer involvement awards event – Flintshire County Council

The first customer involvement awards for Flintshire County Council’s housing services have been held recently.

The awards were set up to acknowledge the great work and dedication of resident groups and individual volunteers in communities. There were also categories for best staff member and for an external partner or contractor who goes that ‘extra mile’ with customer involvement.

The awards were presented by Councillor Helen Brown, Executive Member for Housing, Clare Budden, the Council’s Head of Housing and David Lloyd from TPAS Cymru (Tenant Participation Advisory Service). The presentation evening was held on September 11 at the Civic Centre, Connah’s Quay.

The Award winners were:

Environmental project – Riverside Park & Stoneleigh Close TRA (Tenants’ and Residents’ Association)

External partner
– PC Ian Millington & PCSO Danny Hughes (Saltney)

Staff Member – Moira Lloyd (Warden at Castle Heights, Flint)

Involving young people – Saltney Stonebridge TRA

Residents’ group – Higher Shotton TRA

Individual volunteer – Helen Hughes, Flint

The judges were faced with very difficult decisions and, in some categories, they decided to give awards for merit.

These were presented to:

  • Eddie Jones, Mostyn
  • Alan Davies, Saltney Stonebridge TRA Youth Football Club
  • Pen Y Llan & District TRA
  • Mary Daniels, Connah’s Quay High School
  • Manley Court TRA
  • Riverside Park & Stoneleigh Close TRA
