Commenting on the Education Minister’s statement on the Review of Higher Education Governance in Wales, Shadow Education Minister Paul Davies AM said:
“I welcome the Minister’s statement today. Given that we heard last week that over half of Higher Education spending is on administration, it is vital that this review is progressed.
“It is now incumbent on the Minister to ensure that the task and finish group report within the time frames set out in today’s Statement so that the issues surrounding Higher Education spending and funding can be addressed as a matter of urgency.
“We must see develop a stronger education system in Wales where learners are able to fully reach their potential.
“Excessive bureaucracy must not hinder learning.”
