Commenting on today’s figures which show that just over half the adult population and two thirds of children received NHS dental treatment in the last two years, Shadow Health Minister Andrew RT Davies AM said:
“We are still not seeing an improvement in the number of people receiving NHS dental treatment, despite the Assembly Government’s assurances that they are investing in NHS dentistry.
“There remain ongoing problems in accessing NHS dental treatment and these figures suggest that no real progress is being made in tackling the problems.
“The promotion of good dental hygiene is vitally important and has wider implications for overall public health.
“The Minister must ensure that real improvements in accessing NHS dental treatment in Wales become a reality.”
