Commenting on the First Minister’s speech about the establishment of an ideas unit to advise the Welsh Government on public service reform, Andrew RT Davies AM, Leader of the Welsh Conservatives in the National Assembly, said:
“The First Minister has let the cat out of the bag. Nine months after the election, Labour have been slow and lethargic in bringing forward any policy proposals because they are out of ideas.
“This is an admission that after 12 years of government, Labour is out of steam and ideas on public service reform.
“Labour’s election manifesto was extremely light on public services and now the Party expects taxpayers to fund its own policy development.
“Almost a year after the referendum on further law-making powers, voters will be disappointed that Welsh Labour Ministers seem clueless as to how to use them to deliver improvements in public services.”
