Commenting on the Welsh Government’s decision to reduce the number of daily express trains between Holyhead and Cardiff to one, Shadow Minister for Transport Byron Davies AM, said:
“This change is completely at odds with what should be top of the agenda; promoting public transport and making access easier.
“One minute the minister crows about his sustainable transport strategy, the next he axes a train service from north to south. It doesn’t make sense.
“This irrational approach won’t instil any confidence in travellers and deserves a clearer explanation.
“Improving public transport should be paramount – not cutting it.”
