Welsh Conservatives have today called for urgent action to improve the standards of cancer care in Wales.
Commenting on the report by the Cancer Services Coordinating Group, Shadow Health Minister Andrew RT Davies AM said:
“The report details unacceptable failings in cancer care in Wales and makes for gravely concerning reading.
“While I commend the dedication and commitment of staff providing cancer care, we must ensure that they have adequate resources so that levels of care are not compromised.
“The Health Minister has failed to show the leadership needed to ensure that cancer care in Wales is up to standard.
“I would urge her to take urgent action to redress this shameful shortfall. Cancer patients in Wales deserve better.”
