Morgan Jones’ Park in Caerphilly is set to host a free family fun day in support of National Play Day on Wednesday 6th August, and everyone is invited to join the fun.
Last year thousands of families got playful, and this year the event is set to be bigger and better with a climbing wall, pond dipping, campside cooking, a beach area, balloon modelling, a water slide, messy play and story telling to name just a few of the fun activities on offer.
Little monkeys can swing from the trees in the woodland area and then cool off in the park’s splash pad. A new outdoor gym, recently unveiled in the park, will also be free to use.
Cllr. David Poole, Cabinet Member for Community & Leisure Services said “Play is essential for a child’s development and I am pleased that families will have the chance to take part in all these fun activities for free. Through play children can explore the world around them, learn new skills and make new friends. I would encourage everyone to come along and join in the fun.”
National Play Day is a celebration of children’s right to play and is a campaign that highlights the importance of play in children’s lives.
The event is organised by GAVO and supported by Caerphilly County Borough Council, Welsh Government and Families First.
