Denbighshire celebrates Urdd successes

Denbighshire County Council has offered its congratulations to the county’s children and young people for their success in last week’s Eisteddfod yr Urdd, held in Snowdonia.

Youngsters and students from the county’s schools were successful in a wide range of competitions, including recitation, musical, dancing, acting, artistic and science competitions.

Councillor Huw Jones, Cabinet Lead Member with responsibility for culture, said: “I’m delighted that so many individuals and groups from schools across the county were so successful in last week’s Eisteddfod and I would like to congratulate competitors, teachers and parents for their hard work.

“It never ceases to amaze me the amount of creative talent we have in our schools and to see so many winning on a national stage is a testament to the amount of hard work that has gone on in our schools in preparation.  It really showed the rest of Wales that Denbighshire is a county full of talent.”

“We must not forget that many of our pupils represented their schools in local and county heats and we would also like to congratulate them for their achievements.”
