Denbighshire’s Leader, Councillor Hugh Evans, has been awarded the Local Government Politician of the Year at this year’s Wales Year Book awards in Cardiff.
Congratulating Councillor Evans, Denbighshire’s Chief Executive, Mohammed Mehmet said: “This is a real honour, not only for Councillor Evans but for Denbighshire as a whole.
“Having led the authority through some turbulent times during his term as Leader, Councillor Evans’ contribution to local government has been largely responsible for transformational change, which has seen Denbighshire become a highly regarded authority locally, regionally and nationally.
“This award is due recognition for his work and his collaborative and motivational leadership.”
