Denbighshire County Council has thanked residents for supporting the Dayinsure Wales Rally GB’s return visit to the county this year.
Hundreds of people gathered at Park Road car park in Ruthin to watch some of the live action from the Brenig Stages on a live screen, arranged by Denbighshire County Council, in partnership with Ruthin Town Council.
Other rally supporters joined the action at the actual stages in Brenig where rally cars raced in some of the most breath-taking forest locations.
Leader of Denbighshire, Councillor Hugh Evans OBE, said: “Yet again hundreds of Denbighshire residents came out to give a warm welcome to rally drivers, either at the Ruthin live broadcast, at the stages themselves or on the streets.
Our local audiences are renowned for supporting rallying events and they didn’t disappoint. Many took the opportunity to see at first hand rally drivers coming into Ruthin to re-fuel their cars. Other rally enthusiasts travelled miles to see some of the action.
“The North Wales region is well-known for hosting world class events such as Wales Rally GB – it helps raise the profile of the region and is of benefit to the local economy. We are delighted that local people have been given another opportunity to get involved this year”.
