Denbighshire County roadworks on priorities list

Denbighshire County Council’s efforts to maintain the county’s roads have seen improvement works carried out in several areas – with more works in the pipeline.

Roads that have been resurfaced include Lower Denbigh Road, St Asaph; B5381 Bryn y Pin Hill, Glascoed; A543 County boundary with Conwy; A542 Ty Newyddion to Pentre Bwlch, Llandegla; A539 Woodlands Corner to Sun Trevor, Llangollen and the B5429 roundabout to the Creamery at Llandyrnog.

Footway slurry works have been completed which has resulted in significant improvements on the A525 at Trefnant; Bryn Coed and Love Lane, Denbigh, with footways improvement works underway at Heol y Hendre in Rhuddlan.

The second phase of the surface dressing programme (placing bitumen or chippings on a road to prolong the life of a road surface)  is due to get underway in the south of the county: Foel to Finger Farm, Sun Trevor Road, Donkey Hill, Dinbren Road and the Berwyn area (all Llangollen); Nantyr Road, Glyndyfrdwy; Rhydyglaves Road and Bodheulog Road in Cynwyd and Dolgynlas Road, Betws Gwerfil Goch.

Two significant lengths of the Pont y Cambwll road linking Tremeirchion to the A541 will be resurfaced at the end of June, with the road next to Rhyd Farm in Prestatyn also being treated. Pentre Lane in Rhuddlan will be resurfaced in early July.

The following roads will be resurfaced after 20 July: B5429 Graigfechan to Capel Salem; B5429 Hendrerwydd to Speddyd Junction; A525 Rhewl; A5104 Jordans Garage, Bryneglwys; B5429 Llysfasi to Tyn Llanfair; B5437 Green Lane junction to Carrog; Eryrys to Tan y Graig Junction; B5430 junction to Pant y Gwylanod, Eryrys; Tower Road, Llangollen; Dinbren Road, Llangollen from Tower Road to Wharf Hill and Llanfair Dyffryn Clwyd.

Councillor Sharon Frobisher, Cabinet Lead Member for Environment, said: “Improving the county’s roads is one of the Council’s key priorities and it’s important that we let local communities know about any roadworks planned.

“There are a number of projects in the pipeline and we would like to thank residents in those communities affected in advance for their co-operation.  People have told us that having better roads is on their wish list and we are certainly putting resources in to improving roads to the best of our ability”.
