A film premiere and awards evening will take place in Denbigh’s Theatr Twm o’r Nant, on Thursday 25 August 2011 from 6.30 pm.
‘Genesis The Movie’ has been made by participants who have been supported by the Genesis Project, which operates throughout Wales to help people overcome barriers, and build their skills and confidence to create better opportunities into work and training, and enable them to improve their quality of life.
The Genesis Wales 2 Project has been running in Denbighshire since March 2010 and the DVD was produced in partnership with TAPE Community Music and Film Limited and Genesis in Wrexham and Conwy.
Holly Evans, Genesis Project Manager for Genesis Denbighshire, said:
’I’m really excited about this project, Genesis participants took full responsibility for making the film themselves, from developing ideas for the themes and storyline, choosing locations and learning how to use cameras, sound equipment, and directing a camera crew, to writing questions to conduct their own interviews and providing the narrative featured in the DVD.’
’The film follows the life story of a Genesis participant, from when they first came to Genesis for support, up to the present day and shows how their life and ambitions have changed as a result.’
‘Genesis is funded by the European Social Fund, via the Welsh Government and we would like to thank them all for their support.”
