Denbighshire is on the road to becoming a high performing council, closer to the community

Denbighshire is now in the final year of its Corporate Plan 2009-12, which sets out the Council’s top priorities and how it measures success in each of these areas, and has now published the Annual Performance Review for 21010-11, which provides a summary of how the authority has performed against set targets.

Denbighshire’s four corporate priorities throughout the lifetime of the plan are: Responding to Demographic Change, Regeneration, Modernising Education and Roads and Flood Defences.

In 2010-11, Denbighshire performed in the top half of authorities in Wales for 84% of its key performance indicators.  This demonstrates a significant improvement in the performance of the Council since 2008-09, where it performed in the top half of authorities in Wales for 53% of the same indicators.

Denbighshire’s Leader, Councillor Hugh Evans, said: “Although this represents excellent progress, we have not yet achieved all of the targets we set ourselves.

“What we have done is to show we can improve our services even in the face of today’s difficult economic situation but we will not become complacent in our bid to becoming a high performing council, close the community.”

The Annual Performance Review is available on the Council’s website at www.denbighshire.gov.uk, and a summary report is available at every One Stop Shop, Library and council reception areas.
