Denbighshire Youth Choir was awarded the ‘Rockschool Junior Choir Award’ last week at the National Festival of Music for Youth at Birmingham Symphony Hall.
The Choir, which has 60 members from over 10 Denbighshire Schools, travelled to Birmingham and performed at the National Festival alongside a selection of the best junior choirs in Britain.
According to the adjudicators the Choir was described as ‘a fantastic choir, singing with excellent technique and commitment, they delivered a professional performance throughout’
Their conductor Eleri Watkins, Denbighshire Schools Music Development Officer added: “The choir performed at their best. Performing on such a magnificent stage with Britain’s best choir was an unforgettable experience for the choir!”
