Darren Millar AM has expressed his disappointment that the Derwydd Bach wind farm development in his constituency will go ahead.
Denbighshire County Council announced today that all outstanding pre-development planning conditions have now been met for the 10 turbine development to proceed. The proposals involve 120 metre high turbines north of Melin y Wig.
Commenting on the decision Darren Millar said:
“I’m bitterly disappointed that this development has been given a green light to proceed.
“Today’s decision is a direct consequence of the Welsh Labour Government’s flawed renewable energy planning policies, which are in need of urgent reform.
“There is a great deal of concern amongst my constituents regarding the impact of this development in the area and I believe wind farms should only be developed where they enjoy the support of the local community.
“I will continue to campaign for local residents to be given a greater say in the renewable energy planning process by Ministers in Cardiff Bay.”
