Police are urging residents to be on their guard after distraction burglars targeted homes in Flint and Wrexham.
At about 2:50pm on December 3 a man in his 30’s of dark European appearance, with dark hair and dark clothing called at the home of an elderly Woman off Chester Road, Flint.
He claimed her neighbour had suffered a flood and that he wanted to make sure she would not suffer the same.
While he kept her occupied in the kitchen other unknown person(s) stole money from a bedroom. Anyone who has had a similar caller in the Flint area please contact Mold Burglary Team on DC 1998 on 101.
Meanwhile North Wales Police are linking two incidents in the Wrexham area on December 3.
In the first incident around 11:40am a man aged between 20 and 30, called at a home in the Pen-Y Bryn area claiming he was there to check the water pressure. While the elderly female resident was kept busy in the kitchen, he stole property from other parts of the residence.
The suspect is described as approximately 5ft tall with, dark short hair, clean shaven, fair complexion and slim build. He was wearing a navy blue V-neck jumper with a white round neck t-shirt underneath, dark blue faded jeans and training shoes. He was also wearing dirty gloves. He spoke quickly with a strong accent, possibly Irish.

At mid day a man in his late 20’s called on an elderly woman in Rhostyllen stating that he was from the water board.
He kept her busy in the kitchen while other areas of the house were searched, however nothing was stolen.
He is described as 5’10″ slim build, with short fair hair possibly wearing blue overalls.
