Phase two of Conwy Council’s consultation on Dog Control Orders starts this week.
Earlier this year, proposals were put forward by the Council in an effort to provide a safer and cleaner environment for residents and visitors.
The proposals attracted significant interest and over 300 representations were received. The Council carefully considered all the opinions and information that was submitted, and as a result a number of amendments have been made to the original proposals.
These amendments are the focus of this second phase of consultation.
Nick Jones, Planning and Environmental Enforcement Manager said: “The introduction of the Control Orders has been challenging and rightly so. The fact that we are undertaking a second phase of consultation shows that we are willing to listen to make sure that we get the Control Orders right for everybody including dog owners.”
Full details are available on the Conwy website at www.conwy.gov.uk/dogwarden and are also available to view at the Civic Offices, Colwyn Bay during office hours.
The closing date to submit representations on the amendments to the Dog Control Orders is Thursday, 10 November 2011 [23:59hrs].
At the end of phase two of the consultation, the Council proposes to introduce four Dog Control Orders incorporating the amendments. The four Orders will cover Dog Fouling; Dogs on Leads; Dogs on Leads by Direction and Dog Exclusion Zones.
