Police and environmental officers are reminding dog owners of their responsibilities after a series of complaints about dog fouling in Cefn Mawr.
Owners face a £75 fine for failing to clear up after their pet in public places such as streets and parks.
Wrexham council environmental enforcement officers are now monitoring the area closely with a view to issuing fixed penalty notices for £75 fines, or picking up stray dogs.
The owners face a fee to get their stray dog returned or the animal will be found a new home.
Local PCSO Emma Owen said: “Some fines have been issued and we will continue to tackle this ongoing problem.
“There have been repeated complaints of dog fouling in the Cefn Mawr area which is a concern. If you are a dog owner you are responsible for clearing up after your pet and not doing so will result in a £75 fine issued by the police or the local council.”
“Posters about the consequences of dropping cigarette ends, dog fouling and littering have been given to local businesses, so we hope people will stop doing these things and help us keep our streets clean.”
